Sara Flanagan is a Senior Associate at ideas42. Prior to joining ideas42, Sara worked on community engagement and research translation at Columbia University. Her research involved identifying psychological and situational barriers to environmental health protective behavior, to design and evaluate public health outreach strategies. She previously worked with UNICEF on WASH projects in Bangladesh, and interned with HIV/AIDS programs in Ethiopia and Ghana. Her work has been published in scientific journals such as Bulletin of the World Health Organization and Environmental Health Perspectives. Sara received her doctorate in Community, Society, and Health from CUNY’s Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy. She also holds an MPH in Environmental Health Sciences and Global Health from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, and a BA in Health & Societies and International Health from the University of Pennsylvania.
